go up to the castle and see the museum & environs -- take the siklo up the hill!

Maybe checkout St Stepehn's Basilicum and the environs and walk around up to Vörösmarty Square and Váci Street - bit of a toursist trap though, but nice to stroll along...

for underground culture try:

a venue which is also home to the Tilos Radio community,
which is a bit like pirate cat in SF, only they are "officially"
ripping on the air:

and if yur into teahaz atmosphere...
there's some sweet spots not far from the Terror Museum...
from The Octagon intersection ( andrassy Ut + Terez korut )
turn left down Aradi Ut and then yur 1st right onto Jokai Ut
( there's one right there on the corner but if you keep walking
you'll find some a little off the beaten track)

also recommend getting lost on the streets of Pest on a bike...
or riding along the river on the Buda side.
you can rent one on Wesselenyi ut,
just up from the synagogue Nagy...
and it's a cafe w. internet too, but i forgot the name.
